Our story

From the Río de la Plata to 48th & Nicollet.

Before La Estancia, there was soccer. Daniel Larumbe grew up in Uruguay and became a striker, a number 10 who played in six different countries. He finished his career with the Minnesota Thunder, the forerunner of today’s Minnesota United, and Minnesota became home. You’ll find his jersey on our stone wall.

On November 2, 2024, he opened La Estancia in Tangletown, and Argentinian chef Luis del Hoyo built the menu around the dishes both countries grew up on: steaks off the grill, a Parrillada in the middle of the table, empanadas, chivito, milanesa, and dulce de leche at the end.

Next to the jerseys, our mural is a tribute to the Uruguayans of Minnesota. And the door is open to everyone else.

Before you come.

Do I need a reservation?

Walk-ins are welcome when we have room, but booking guarantees your table. It takes a minute online and no card is needed. Book a table.

Is there parking?

Yes. We have our own lot, free for guests, with accessible spaces.

Do you serve lunch?

Yes, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from noon. Tuesday to Thursday we open at 4 pm. We are closed on Mondays.

Do you have a kids menu?

Yes: chicken tenders with fries and mac n’ cheese.

Is gratuity included?

An 18% gratuity is included for parties of 6 or more guests.

Can you host a large group or a private event?

Online booking goes up to 16 guests; for more, call us at (612) 200-8377. For 40 guests or more we can close the restaurant for your group. Send a request and we’ll confirm the date.

What about allergies and dietary needs?

Our menu marks vegetarian dishes, dishes with nuts or pork, and dishes cooked with wine. Tell us about allergies when you book, and talk to our staff at the table.

Do you do takeout or delivery?

Yes, through DoorDash, Uber Eats and Grubhub.
