Mario, our server, made the evening AMAZING extremely attentive! This steakhouse tucked in a South Minneapolis neighborhood is nothing short of a Michelin 5-star restaurant. From the training of the servers to the quality of the food was outstanding. The croutons on our Caesar salad absolutely melted in your mouth. The steak and chicken were amazing, tender, perfectly seasoned, almost indescribably good. They are served on a sizzling hot plate that keeps the sizzle going a lot longer than I have experienced anywhere else. It's a bit pricey, but the service and food are worth it. This place is going to need a larger place as soon as the word gets out. I sincerely hope that this place is successful beyond its wildest dreams

Many times when you go out to dinner, you are not only looking to have a good time with friends or family, but also to forget a little bit about the everyday life and the daily routine. In this case, not only did all that happen to me last night, but I felt transported to a place where I had not been for many years. During my international business activities I used to travel to Argentina and Uruguay (Google it). Two of the most beautiful countries in South America. Not for that the rest of them are not so nice. These two countries have a special charisma. Their history, their people, educated, very hospitable and with a very good economic level. Their music is very special. Not to mention their food, very European, but at the same time with that touch of the Rio de la Plata heritage. Its history is very interesting and I am not going to tell you about it today. My readers have to do their homework. The music, very special and unique. To go there, you have to take a plane and travel about 6,000 miles. The two countries are like brothers. They were born almost together, well, I'm telling you some history. One is next to the other. So, I found through a friend who took me there, a little Uruguay and a little Argentina, all summed up in a beautiful restaurant, La Estancia, in Minneapolis. And it HAS parking...WOW! Remember that these countries have a very diverse heritage from Europe and their food reflects that, giving us what we like as meet and potatos. Also remember that these two countries have a wealth of cattle and know how to grill a good steak deliciously. We like corn in our American roots, well, you have to try the Locro... Not to mention the grilled meats, they are champions in that matter. And finally, I won't tell you more, but for the Sweet Tooth, you won't find more delicious and tasty desserts than at La Estancia. And... the music that I loved listening to during my travels, last night I relived it all. The wine list is very varied and international. It is a restaurant where you will find authenticity and very good service and hospitality. Until next time

A new hidden gem!!! Amazing food, great service and a warm atmosphere with friendly staff. I've been to Manny's and Murray's and we liked the steak here better! Of course, some fresh chimichurri and empanadas is a bonus. Don't let the small strip mall location hold you back.

The tomahawk is unbelievably good!!. Enough for two people, seasoned perfectly, and grilled slowly to perfection. I’ve eaten steak at all the well known minneapolis steak houses and this one is at the top of the list. We’ve also had empanadas at so many places and they are usually flavorful but dry…. the empanadas here are actually juicy! It’s very unassuming so I wasn’t expected to be blown away! We will be regulars!

Don’t let the exterior fool you. This is a legit 5 star Argentine steakhouse. We are a couple foodies in from out of town and since our event was cancelled at the last minute, we landed here on a whim. The food was amazing. We tried at least half the appetizers and they were all top notch. The various cheeses were amazing. The manchego was well aged. The burrata was well balanced. The meats here were top notch, well seasoned, and cooked to order. The drink options were all awesome, from the excellent (but limited) wine selection, to the fun and tasty mixed drinks. Am honored to highly recommend this place to anyone!

Our second time here, and we'll be back again. Great cuts of meat seasoned perfectly with respectable pricing. I also had the best empanada. The staff makes you feel like you're in their home. The only problem was the home-made chimmichu was soooo tasty I wanted to drink it. Nice mix of wine and craft cocktails. We used a Groupon and saved a few bucks.

Had our anniversary dinner here and it did not disappoint. It's an Argentine/Uruguayan spot on Nicollet and you can tell they take the asado seriously — the ribeye came off the grill cooked exactly how I asked, super tender and smoky. We started with the beef empanadas, which were legit homemade and gone in about thirty seconds. Our server steered us to a Malbec that paired perfectly. Save room for the dulce de leche dessert too. The room is elegant but still relaxed, not stuffy at all, and the service made us feel like family. Already planning our next visit.

I’m kicking myself for waiting so long to try La Estancia. My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful anniversary meal that was excellent from start to finish. The beef empanadas are insane, our steaks (skirt & tenderloin) were cooked to perfection, and the chimichurri was the best I’ve ever had. …

Our first time dining here and it was fabulous! The decor is beautiful and upscale. But the food was amazing. We had empanadas and choripizza for appetizers. And for our main entrees we had the chivato uruguayo sandwich and Ribeye dinner. The flavors and presentation are so unique and delicious, they serve their steaks on raised sizzling hot griddle pans. We had never seen this before and it was a great concept. For dessert we had postre chaja which was also so delicious. Our server was very friendly and so helpful with recommendations on the menu. Even the owner was helping out the staff and walking around taking to guests. Highly recommend this restaurant and we plan to bring our entire family there soon.

This restaurant is truly exceptional. The service was impeccable and the food was of remarkably high quality. Aline, our waitress, was exceptionally charming. We began with the chorizo and morcilla both delicious. I also tried the asado de tira, rich and tender and the skirt steak was equally delicious. For dessert the panqueques were outstanding. I will certainly return.

Amazing!!! Best steaks in the Cities. Every detail, from the hand-crafted sauces to the interesting appetizers to the gigantic and mouthwatering meats, was flawless. If you want fantastic food, service, and a lovely atmosphere combining casual elegance with modern and rustic features you HAVE to try La Estancia. For a special occasion or just to treat yourself, this is the place.

I've been to some steakhouses here in MN and this one is for SURE the best one until now, the chimichuri is out of this world, insane! The environment is really cozy, the servers very attentive. i loved it! Every one from MN should try it.

I love going to La Estancia!! The food is delicious and authentic. The service is excellent, always so friendly and very attentive. It's the first place in Minnesota where I can enjoy Uruguayan food like I'm back home 🇺🇾 Tonight, I tried the Choripiza and it's so good; one of my favorites is the Chivito it's delicious. And don't skip the wonderful deserts, you can't leave without having the Postre Chajá, an amazing Uruguayan desert 😋 I highly recommend La Estancia to anyone looking for an authentic Rio Platense dining experience.

We had such a fantastic experience. We were a large group and sampled the entire menu. I was excited to see they had traditional dishes that I would eat at restaurants back home in Argentina, like milanesa a la napolitana and, perhaps my favorite, bife a la riojana, which is sliced veal topped with tomato sauce, peas, fried egg and served with a side of thick cut fries. Same with desserts -we ordered the more traditional panqueque and flan with dulce de leche and also the grilled pineapple and postre chaja, which I had never seen anywhere before. So so good!

Quite possibly the best place in Minnesota to eat and experience South American cuisine. The asado is incomparable. The meat is cooked to perfection, exactly as we ordered it. The offal appetizers are a must-try, and the waiters' dedication to serving and offering the best options is key. Everything was spectacular, and the place is divine! We will definitely be back!

A taste of South America, this Uruguayan-Argentinian restaurant is a perfect combination of the two shores of the Rio de la Plata. It merges the taste of two very similar but different cultures on the food. Great stakes just the way that people cook them in their back yards , home made goodies and very detailed service . Their milanesa is delicious.

La Estancia offers an authentic Uruguayan parrillada eating experience in a cozy atmosphere. The service was very professional and friendly, and the owners, who are Uruguayan, greeted us at the door. The food was outstanding. We ordered the provoleta appetizer, asado de tira, and the hamburguesa rioplatense. All of the dishes are authentic to either Uruguay or Argentina and are extremely well prepared. There are a few vegetarian options. Anything from the “From the grill” menu is a must! We felt very welcomed and taken care of. We can’t wait to return!

The food is just excellent. The chimichurri is the best I’ve ever had. Everyone needs to just get here and order a steak. I don’t usually bother with dessert but I’m so glad i ordered this one.

It recently opened and we’d been looking forward to trying it. We were SO pleased! The staff was very kind and attentive without being overbearing. The menu had many items we wished to try. We ordered a variety of items and the portions were great to split. We had a salad, butternut squash soup, beef empanada, burger and a margarita. Each item was very good, though I have to give special recognition to the beef empanada. I love empanadas and try them any time I see them on a menu. Both my wife and I thought this was THE BEST empanada we’d ever had! Even though it was kind of expensive, it was absolutely worth it. Considering the consistently excellent dishes and healthy portions, I was expecting a larger bill. Since it’s a steakhouse, I know it would not be hard to run up a much higher tab, but we don’t feel like we missed out. We’ll definitely be back and try other items on the menu. We’re so glad to have another worthy neighborhood restaurant. We really are spoiled by the abundance of great places to get food between Lyndale and 35W. We both highly recommend La Estancia. Winner winner, Argentinian dinner!

We had an excellent first experience! The empanadas were the best we’ve ever had and the shared meat platter was enough for our party of 5 with a couple additional sides. We tried three desserts and they were all delicious. The wine from Uruguay was pleasantly tasty as well. A Tangletown neighborhood gem!

Dined at La Estancia for the first time last night. What a treat!! We started with two Empanadas - one meat, one spinach. certainly the best we've ever had. Highly recommend them. The steaks we had were excellent and perfectly prepared. The sides (mashed potatoes, sautéed vegetable, sautéed mushrooms) were very, very good and the amount we got was more than we've seen anywhere else. The atmosphere is really nice, well decorated and laid out. The service was excellent - from the manager who greeted us and checked on us at the end, to our server, Mario, who was absolutely the best. Mario was so friendly, attentive and patient answering our questions about the menu. We will definitely be back as there are a lot more items on the menu that beg to be tried!

Such an Exquisite Restaurant!!! The steak melted like butter and was flavored so well! The sides were delicious and the ceviche had the perfect amount of acid. Great ambiance and the service was fantastic. The only thing that wasn't Amazing was the chicken. But who needs chicken at a Steakhouse?!!

One of the most flavorful and tender skirt steaks I've ever eaten. I had mashed potatoes and sautéed vegetables as my sides. Chose the grilled pineapple for dessert. It was good but personal preference I would order it without the chocolate sauce. Service and atmosphere were excellent.

The grilled meat was delicious; it was so tender it was practically melt-in-your-mouth tender, and even though we asked for it well-done, it wasn't dry at all. The service was spectacular; they were very attentive and friendly the whole time, even taking a few minutes to chat with us even though they were about to close. And the atmosphere was very elegant and comfortable. 100% recommended.

The food was absolutely outstanding. I ordered the New York steak, which was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. My wife had the ribeye with a salad, and it was just as delicious. FFS eat here! The chivito Uruguayo is one of the best sandwiches in town, and will probably feed you for a couple days (at a reasonable $20). My wife loved the ribeye with chimichurri and my brother was very impressed with the asado de tira. Even the fries are great

I have taken the time and tried most of the menu already, the Chivito 10/10 best sandwich in the Midwest, Empanadas probably the best spinach empanadas I ever had 10/10, Milanesas each one enough for dinner and lunch the next day with a great flavor, The Entrana with Mcallan is the amazing and the Chaja couldnt be better. Excellent food at a good price, another establishment that raised the bar on Nicolet Ave.

Delicious food, drinks, and atmosphere! I had the empanadas, chivito, and the panqueque with dulce de leche and everything was amazing. I’m pretty sure this is the only place in the Twin Cities that has chivito and it was perfect. Even the fries were amazing. The bartenders know what they’re doing, too. Highly highly recommend to anyone!

The pictures that you see online do the food justice. The service was top tier (the chef and owner also greeted us.) They made sure to check in enough to make sure we were okay but not too much where it was annoying. If I could give them 6/5 stars I would!!

A wonderful mis-STEAK. We landed here today by entering an incorrect address for our Lyft ride. So we stayed. Great atmosphere, divine aromas, lovely wine selection, and yummy food. I'm in from Detroit but next time I'm in town, this will be A MUST!

I was there yesterday for my friends birthday party, it was 18 of us and the service was great, the food was amazing and the ambiance was one of the best I have experienced in a while. Overall, great place to experience one of the best cuisines in Latin America! The provoleta was amazing and them empanadas were delicious.

We don’t get to go out often and I’m glad we chose this place. We were greeted warmly at the door. The vibe inside was great. It was full but everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves . My son and I decided to sit at the bar. Neither of us are familiar with Argentinian and Uruguay cuisine. The bartender Dani helped us right away and wasn’t pushy and extremely professional. There are many things on the menu I intend to try but I asked some of the staff about a few dishes. The had good knowledge of the food and made a great suggestion. I ordered the Chovito El Plato. The steak was tender, the bacon. Cooked perfectly and it was an amazing dish. The prices were reasonable, the food exceptional and the staff professional. I’ll be back to try the other things on the menu.

Prices are very good, food is fresh & delicious, the service is attentive & friendly. Nice bar. Easy parking, convenient location. Their meats are well-prepared with lots of flavor. Not including beers & dessert, we had a great lunch for under $50.

Great location, fantastic staff, exceptional food at very reasonable prices for a nice steak house. The staff suggestions where on point and did not disapoint. the empenadas are very good, the parridilla de eatancia, a platter for 4 is perfect, and provides a great sample of the quality meats available. 3 deserts where fantastic. Can't remember the names of them 2 weeks after but I think flan, a cake pudding thing in a cup, and these little crepe type rolls with caramel sauce where awesome. I will be back again and again!
